The Colca Canyon Located in the extreme north-east of the Arequipa region, a few hours north of the city of Arequipa Peru. Here is the river Colca and Colca Canyon. During the tour you can see interesting natural landscapes and Condors, Llamas, alpacas, guanacos, vicuna and vizcachas.
The Colca Canyon is the habitat of animals like condor Andean including 100 bird species, four types of camelids: vicuna, guanaco, llama and alpaca. There are also over 300 species of plants, of which 30 are cactus, not to mention the original green lichen. One of the most valuable events of the visit to the canyon is the sunrise along the cliff where you can see, when morning comes, the flight of about 20 condors.
The Colca Valley is ideal for recreational and artistic activities like painting, photography, poetry, among others, just as it is ripe for adventure sports like trekking, canoeing, climbing, cycling, etc.. The highest point of the Valley is the dormant volcano Ampato (6388 m), and lowest in the confluence of Canyon and Andamayo (970 meters).
