The south desert shows many images drawed on the sand and related to the Nazca culture. One of these images represents a very big condor. These drawings were obtained by removing the brown ground, rich in iron oxide, which covers the sandy and yellowish bottom and also by piling up the sand around the cleared zones.

Between all the Nazca draws you will find for example a very big spider. And, the interpretation that people give to these lines is varied. For some Archeologists these draws are astromic signs; however, some others think that the place where the draws are located was a sanctuary.

These draws are such as big that they can be appreciated only from an airplane. The Nazca lines were and are a big problem for the archeologists because they have no idea how the Nazca citizens have done such as incredible draws and they do not know even what do these draws represent! We can only say that Nazca citizens had probably a big astronomical knowledge.
