Comments over the Picoaga Hotel:
By fodors:
The front half of this hotel consists of a colonial building with rooms arranged around an attractive arcaded courtyard, originally the 17th-century home of the Marquis of Picoaga. Behind is a modern wing with a restaurant that overlooks the Plaza de Armas. The rooms are a bit worn, but the colonial building itself is attractive. Opt for one of the older, quieter colonial rooms facing the courtyard.
By frommers:
A very nice, more reasonably priced alternative to Cusco's top two luxury hotels, Picoaga also occupies a historic building -- in this case a 17th-century mansion that once belonged to a Spanish nobleman, the marquis of Picoaga. Just minutes from the Plaza de Armas, the hotel is set around a lovely arcaded courtyard -- or, at least, one portion of it is. A newer wing is in a dated and much less appealing modern section at the rear of the hotel.

Also, we have Tele Video Tape, Fridge Bar in the rooms, and Electronic Games Room.
Cusco means “navel” and it was, to the Incas, a sacred place, centre of their Empire and also, they believed, of the world. In 1532, after the Spanish Conquest, the city was remodeled and temples and palaces were constructed on the Inca ruins. The city is a synthesis of the Inca and Spanish civilizations, the hotel an excellent example.
In every corner of the city, you can find countless vestiges of ancient life and culture.
Visit Machu-Picchu, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, The Valley of the Incas, the ruins of Sacsayhuaman; admire the beautiful colonial jewels which adorn their palaces and temples...or go shopping at the exciting handicraft market, an unforgettable experience. Stroll around Cusco and then relax in the intimate comfort of the Picoaga Hotel, the most centrally located in the city.
